Countdown to the helmet...or DOC band if I'm correct.

I have to do WHAT, mom?!?!?
-----------------
2 days until Kai gets his helmet... or to be correct, it's called a DOC band. He's getting it for the treatment of Plagiocephaly (ie flat head) on the front and right back of his head. Since his head is not growing properly, it's starting to grow upwards and at the same time cause asymmetry in his face and head shape.

I've been researching about what it's going to be like, have heard about different peoples experiences, read about how to decorate the band and yet i'm still not sure how it will be. I'm sure it will be fine, but I've been reading about sores they can get, and how some babies have a really hard time sleeping the first few weeks and such. Right now, he's so cute without it, but I guess we'll not see his hair for about 4 months. We have to go in every two weeks for adjustments, and we have to do a special cleaning of it every day. He has to wear it 23 out of 24 hours a day - one hour break to take a bath. I'm starting to feel anxiety about the whole process. I'm sure it will be fine but I have to take the verse from matthew and "...do not be anxious about anything, but with prayer and petition", present MY requests to God. So easy to say...

Pray for us as we embark on this new journey.

Tomorrow's adventure is Kara's four year old shots and Kai's flu shot. Man this poor boy, he's gonna have a rough few days. Hopefully it's only a few days. =P

On a happier note, he learned how to stick out his tongue and spit :)
